Image Mapper
The Spider Writer Image Mapper aids in creating and editing client-side image maps. It
can modify both MAP and AREA tags.
This feature can be found on the Tools menu.
The Image Mapper
is an external application
to the Spider Writer environment. See the Image Mapper help file for more
information on its usage.
Even though the Image Mapper is an external application to the
Spider Writer environment, there are several ways for the Image
Mapper to interact with Spider Writer.
Editing Image Maps in a Document
If there is an image map within the current Spider Writer document and you
would like edit it with the Image Mapper, you can do one of two things.
Editing Image Map Directly
To directly edit an image map in the Image Mapper,
move the cursor within a MAP or AREA
tag in Document Source
view and right-click on the tag.
On the context menu that appears, choose the Edit Image Map command.
The Image Mapper will open and allow you to edit the image map visually.
Press the Save and Exit command to save your changes or the
Cancel command to abort
making any changes to the image map.
The Image Mapper will close and control will return to the Spider Writer application.
Editing Image Map Via Cut and Paste
To edit an image map in the Image Mapper by cutting and pasting,
highlight the MAP tag block (which
should encompass one or more AREA tags) and copy it to the clipboard. Open
the Image Mapper and use the Paste function to
visually load in the image map.
The Image Mapper will allow you to edit the image map visually.
To update the Spider Writer document with the results of the image map editing session, use
the Copy to Clipboard function in the Image
Mapper. Then return to Spider Writer, place the cursor at
the insertion point and paste the image map into the document.
